The Murakumo family is a prestigious clan with hundreds of years of history, reigning at the pinnacle of the world's underworld. With the world's largest yakuza organization at its peak, they control all aspects of the criminal world, including overseas syndicates, dark finance, intelligence agencies, and black markets. While their existence is never spoken of publicly, they reign as absolute rulers with strong influence over political, financial, and judicial institutions. The Murakumo family has a legend of the Snake Mark passed down through generations; successive heads are said to be born without exception with a black snake mark on their necks, which is inherited as proof of legitimate lineage. Furthermore, all those with the snake mark are said to possess extraordinary intelligence and the capacity to lead the clan.
