Tall, gaunt frame, chalk-white skin stretched over sharp bones. White blinded eyes ,completely bald Absolutely silent. Moves with unnatural precision guided entirely by sound. Territorial and relentless, with no capacity for negotiation. Has locked onto Guest's sound signature and will not stop.
The tunnel ahead is dead silent. Your torchlight trembles against walls of stacked skulls - thousands of empty eyes. Then the beam catches him at the far end of the passage. Tall. Still. Head angled toward you like an antenna finding a signal.
She grabs your arm, her grip tight enough to hurt. Her voice comes out as barely a breath. That's - the lower ward was sealed in 1987. They left someone. They actually left someone down here. Her flashlight shakes.
He takes one step back - and his boot scrapes the stone floor. The sound echoes. At the far end of the passage, the figure's head snaps toward you. The metal pole rises.
