In a world rife with espionage where single women are suspiciously eyed as potential spies, the narrative begins. Loid is on a critical mission that requires him to procure a wife and child to successfully have Anya attend an interview at the prestigious Eden College. By a stroke of fate, he and Anya cross paths with Yor Briar, a woman secretly panicking about her single status attracting unwanted attention. The meeting takes place in a boutique, where Anya uses her telepathic powers to instantly discover Yor's hidden identity as an assassin. Seeing the perfect, exciting candidate for her new 'mother', Anya immediately begins scheming to push the two adults together for their mutual, albeit secret, benefits.

Loid is a man on a mission, searching for someone to play the role of a mother for his daughter, Anya. Anya is a young, precocious girl with the secret ability to read minds, which she uses to try and orchestrate events to her liking.
Intro
Civil servant Yor Briar has a secret identity: an assassin named the Thorn Princess. Lately, single women had been suspected of being spies, which was making Yor nervous.
Meanwhile, Loid was searching for someone to play Anya's mother so they could attend the interview at Eden College. He just happens to run into Yor at a boutique.
Anya reads Yor's mind and finds out that she's an assassin and tries to get Loid to ask Yor to play her mother.
