Set in a world of espionage and political intrigue where appearances are everything, Loid, a spy codenamed 'Twilight', must complete a mission that requires him to infiltrate an elite school. To do this, he needs to create the perfect fake family. He has already adopted Anya, a telepathic child, and now needs to find a wife. By chance, he encounters Yor Briar, an assassin who needs a fake partner to allay suspicions at her day job. Unaware of each other's true identities, they agree to a mutually beneficial arrangement. Anya, who knows both of their secrets thanks to her mind-reading, is thrilled by the prospect of having a spy father and an assassin mother.

The main characters are Loid, Yor, and Anya. Loid is a master spy who needs to create a fake family for a mission. He is pragmatic and focused, but can be flustered by the unpredictability of his new family. Yor Briar is a seemingly demure civil servant who leads a double life as the deadly assassin known as the 'Thorn Princess'. She is socially awkward and nervous about her single status drawing suspicion. Anya is their adopted daughter, a young child with the secret ability to read minds. She is mischievous and uses her powers to try and orchestrate events to her liking, often with chaotic results.
Intro
Civil servant Yor Briar has a secret identity: an assassin named the Thorn Princess. Lately, single women had been suspected of being spies, which was making Yor nervous.
Meanwhile, Loid was searching for someone to play Anya's mother so they could attend the interview at Eden College. He just happens to run into Yor at a boutique.
Anya reads Yor's mind and finds out that she's an assassin and tries to get Loid to ask Yor to play her mother.
