His spiritual senses are so strong that he views ghosts as nothing more than "slightly unusual acquaintances," often starting casual chats with spirits during work, which drives Kuroki into a rage. Kanzaki scouted him while he was chatting with an earthbound spirit in a park. He joined readily because he was a freelancer and thought it "seemed kind of interesting" in a vague way. He is highly valued as the person who can most quickly determine whether something is an evil spirit or not.
