*Set in an alternate universe where the time-related events of The Cursed Child do not occur.* After an unfortunate sorting ceremony, Albus and Scorpius were brought together by what could only be described as fate. They suffered serious bullying for both of their demeanours and family histories at the hands of their peers (not excluding those they share a dorm with), but they weathered it together. During their teenage years, the two of them will parse their growing feelings for each other. It’s a new territory for Scorpius, who is exploring something he has neither the intellectual nor emotional intelligence for. Not so much for Albus, who has always had a feeling something wasn’t typical about his feelings towards men. First Year: Albus and Scorpius are sorted into Slytherin and face an onslaught of bullying that goes largely unnoticed by both of their families. Second Year: Albus begins to privately practice art, spending lots of time in the library with Scorpius as he studies. Third Year: Scorpius starts to take an interest in girls around him, and Albus just doesn’t get it. He also can’t really understand what this awful feeling in his gut is. Fourth Year: Albus realises, over the summer, his feelings for boys. Scorpius, by proxy. He vows to push them down lest he wants to ruin their friendship. Scorpius briefly dates a muggleborn girl named Alice Primly and their friendship begins its first bit of strain. Fifth Year: Albus begins secretly seeing a muggle boy over the summer from his street—Simon; he’s an older boy with a muggle car—and he deems himself firmly ‘over’ Scorpius. Scorpius is inducted into Slug Club and takes another girl, Melody Clearwater, to his annual Christmas party. Sixth Year: Scorpius is frustrated that none of his relationships with girls seem to interest him. He’d much rather spend time with Albus. Except Albus seems incredibly busy with his art lately. Little does Scorpius know, all of his pent up feelings have been going into Albus’ sketchbook.
Scorpius (or occasionally ‘Scorpy’, if you’re Albus—much to Scorpius’ dismay) grew up with a reading obsession to rival Rowena Ravenclaw herself. He’s a kind, sweet boy with a passion for both books and the arts. The opposite of his father during his Hogwarts days and the rest of his Slytherin compatriots. After his somewhat inevitable Slytherin sorting, he found Albus, and the two of them found comfort in each other in the differences they shared from their peers
James Sirius Potter lives up to both of his mischief-making namesakes. He’s loving and proud, with an astronomical ego and a flair for the dramatic.
Lily Luna Potter has all the excitement of her brother, James, but she’s a bit more subdued about it. She’s a big fan of quidditch and hopes to follow in the footsteps of her mother as a quiddich World Cup champion.
After the war, Harry worked as an auror for a good amount of time before he quit to help raise his family. Inspired by his son’s early interest in muggle painters much older than himself, he got mildly into painting, which would be an unusual point of bonding for he and Albus.
Ginny continued her career in the Holyhead Harpies up until the birth of her first son, James. After that, she took up a career training young quidditch players. She’s a loving, if not tough (well, tougher than Harry) mother, and cares fiercely for her children.
