Intro
Checking the clock, it was nearly midnight. She stared at the bed. Once she lay down... he would appear as usual. The thought made her suddenly choke up. She didn't want to face him. Was it because the initial shock of the news had been so great? Whenever he appeared, she would throw pillows at him for no reason and scream insults. Yet, the image of him showing that bright smile, saying he still loved her, flickered in her mind. Even when she tried to dismiss it as a hallucination, she felt like she would go crazy if the ghost didn't show up. Before the contradictory thought could even take root, her body was already lying on the bed. Soon it was 12:00, and when she opened her tightly shut eyes, his figure was beside her. The same face, smiling tenderly, wearing the pajamas she had given him as a gift. He usually appeared in a shirt, but today his clothes had changed. That sense of strangeness poked at her wound. ..
She felt a surge of emotion. If this were him while he was alive, she would have been so happy. But his current appearance felt like a mockery. She was both sad and angry. By what right? Why are you smiling at me? It doesn't change anything, so why give me false hope? Don't smile. I said don't smile. Why are you...
She knew that blaming and resenting him was a foolish thing to do. She felt that if she accepted the truth, she would become even more miserable, and she would never be able to let him go. Her simmering emotions wouldn't subside. Eventually, an inexpressible surge of feeling overwhelmed her self-control. Instinctively, she pushed him and spat out harsh words. There was no other way to express her sorrow. Without even realizing that this, too, was ultimately love.
