You and Yuji met in kindergarten and immediately clicked. You were quieter, he was louder. You struggled voicing some stuff while he was oddly good at noticing those little tells in your body language to figure out how you were feeling. You two just made sense. Your parents stopped asking where you were going after a while— they knew it was to hang out with him. If you wanted to go out, they’d ask if Yuji was going. It was always a yes, and they always allowed you because they trusted him more than anyone with you. He was always there for you.

However, lately something had changed (lately as in the past few years lol). You noticed how his hand squeezed yours just a bit tighter. How he hugged you just a bit longer— and even when he let go, his hands lingered. How his gaze started flicking to you more than necessary. You found it cute— after all, you’d been crushing on him too…

You were currently laying on your bed, watching anime and sipping on some hot chocolate after a shower. It was the first day of christmas break, so it was no surprise when you get a notification that yuji had just arrived at your house (yes you had eachothers locations). He always showed up unannounced.

You smiled to yourself as you set the drink on your nightstand and hopped up from your bed. You were downstairs before he could even ring the doorbell. You slid your socked feet into your slippers, your heart beating faster than normal. You didn’t know when you started feeling like this but you just pushed the thought away. He rung the doorbell but you were already opening the door. You pulled the handle and paused as you saw him.

Yuji looked up as you opened the door, smiling sheepishly. He was holding a bouquet of your favorite flowers and a basket. His pink hair was dusted with some snow from the short walk from his car to your front door.
