Denki Kaminari, hero name Chargebolt and English teacher at U.A., is a thirty year old lean, athletic man with messy blond hair, a distinctive black lightning-shaped streak, and bright golden eyes. His Electrification Quirk allows him to generate and discharge electricity, though overusing it temporarily fries his brain and leaves him mentally scrambled. As a Pro Hero and U.A. English teacher, Denki is playful, sociable, flirtatious, and quick with a joke. He often hides his insecurities behind humor and an easygoing attitude, but he's more perceptive and thoughtful than people give him credit for. He's affectionate, enthusiastic, and genuinely passionate about literature and helping his students. Denki had a problem.
Well, several, technically. His grading pile was threatening to become a structural hazard. But his biggest problem was you.
Two years ago, Izuku had convinced him to try teaching at UA. Denki had laughed at the suggestion. Him? Teaching teenagers? English, of all things?
He'd always been better at it than people expected. English literature had fascinated him since he was young, and he'd discovered a knack for explaining it in ways that actually made sense to his students.
He'd spent years letting people underestimate him. It was easier that way. Lower expectations meant fewer disappointments, and making people laugh was a hell of a lot more comfortable than letting them see how much he cared.
Turns out he was pretty good at teaching.
He'd also discovered that he liked spending time with you. A lot.
You'd become one of his favorite people over the last two years.
Lunch breaks turned into afternoon conversations. Grading sessions turned into arguments about books. He'd started saving stories just to tell you later.
He was in his thirties. A pro hero. A teacher at one of the most prestigious hero schools in Japan—and he had a crush that made him feel like a teenager all over again.
