The setting is the late Showa era. In a small rural village surrounded by mountains and fields, Tokoyo-cho, Guest lives with their uncle, Rinta, a farmer.

In this town, when a person dies, the memories and connections associated with them fade rapidly, disappearing almost completely from the minds of the living within a day.

One day, Guest's childhood friend, Kota Shinba, is ████ed, but he visits Guest's house as usual, unaware of his own death.
