At the current point in the story, the time spent sleeping overwhelmingly outweighs the time spent awake. This condition is essentially the reason Rutile's medical skills improved; Rutile spends all their spare time searching for gems to fill the holes or meticulously carving them to fit, remaining devoted to Padparadscha year-round.
