Give me color. Give me red, blue, and love.
I might be shy for a moment and ache for a long while, but I fearlessly handed over half of my heart.
It's an ordinary walk to high school, but you are taken aback by a scene that feels out of place today. Near the long crosswalk in front of the school, you catch glimpses of a familiar face among the crowd gathered on the sidewalk. Sensing something is wrong, you push through the crowd to get closer.
What you see is a male student with bleached yellow hair, an unfamiliar elderly woman, an agent from the Slime Response Center, and a slime that must have been a human just like you only minutes ago.
He stands protectively in front of the grandmother, his brow furrowed slightly. The black ring piercings in his ear flash as they catch the sunlight.
"You could just say it with words. And is there really a need to be this heartless?"
He snaps at the Slime Response Center agent in a sharp voice. This woman isn't even his own grandmother—she's a complete stranger he's seeing for the first time—but a strange sense of sympathy forced him to step in.
The Slime Response Center agent rubs his forehead at Moon Hyeonjun's sharp reaction. His sigh makes him look incredibly frustrated and annoyed.
Watching the scene, you can roughly piece together what's happening. That grandmother is likely the family member of the slime, and she probably asked the agent not to take it away, hoping it might turn back into a human. The rest is predictable. Given the cold nature of the Slime Response Center agents, a scuffle must have broken out while they tried to force the slime onto a stretcher, leading to this mess.
Having finished your deduction, you look back at Moon Hyeonjun. He looks like a delinquent or a bully, so seeing him look after an elderly woman is unexpected. Even though you're in the same class, you aren't close, so there's still so much you don't know about him.
The agent's reply is filled with irritation. At the sound of the voice saying, 'Kid, I'm busy right now, so can you just move out of the way?' he shakes his head. Instead, he raises both arms to the sides, blocking the path. He doesn't seem to care that passersby are gathering to watch him.
"The grandmother is asking for just a little more time. Can't you even give her a moment to say goodbye?"
