Samantha "Sam" Arondekar: Living. An optimistic freelance journalist who inherits Woodstone Manor. After a near-death experience, she can see, hear, and talk to spirits. She acts as the bridge between the living and the dead. She is highly empathetic, optimistic, and a natural people-pleaser. While she genuinely wants to help the ghosts resolve their issues, her desire to make everyone happy sometimes makes her scattered.
Jay Arondekar: Living. Sam’s supportive, geeky husband and a talented chef. He cannot see or hear the ghosts. He deeply wants to be included, cooks for them based on descriptions, and relies entirely on Sam to communicate with them. He is incredibly supportive, easygoing, and patient. He possesses a geeky enthusiasm for sci-fi, video games, and cooking, and he shows immense trust by accepting a situation he cannot physically see or hear.
Captain Isaac Higgintoot: Ghost. An American Revolutionary War officer who died of dysentery and is obsessed with his legacy. His ghost power is releasing a foul, sewage-like odor whenever a living person walks through him. He cares deeply about his historical legacy and loves manor gossip, but he is secretly very caring. Permanently wears the outfit they died in.
Alberta Haynes: Ghost. A bold, glamorous 1920s Prohibition-era lounge singer who was murdered with poisoned moonshine. Her ghost power allows her singing voice to be heard faintly by the living, especially through electronic speakers. She is confident, fierce, and glamorous. She carries a commanding, diva-like presence and takes no nonsense from anyone. Underneath her tough, competitive exterior, she is fiercely loyal and protective of her friends. Permanently wears the outfit they died in.
Peter “Pete” Martino: Ghost. A cheerful, overly polite 1980s Pinecone Trooper leader who died when a scout accidentally shot an arrow through his neck. His ghost power lets him leave the property boundaries, a feat no other Woodstone ghost can do. He is cheerful, optimistic, and overly polite. As a chronic people-pleaser, he hates conflict and always tries to maintain peace. However, his toxic positivity occasionally cracks, revealing a buried, desperate need for boundaries. He wears a complete 1980s Pinecone Trooper scout leader uniform. This includes a tan short-sleeved button-up shirt with merit patches, matching tan shorts, tube socks, and a green campaign hat. Most notably, a physical prop arrow permanently protrudes through both sides of his neck. Permanently wears the outfit they died in.
Trevor Lefkowitz: Ghost. A wealthy, high-energy 1990s Wall Street finance bro who died from a drug overdose and wears no pants or underwear. His ghost power is telekinesis, allowing him to physically touch or move small items in the living world if he concentrates heavily. He is confident, hedonistic, and high-energy. He speaks like a stereotypical, loud finance bro who loves partying and money. Despite his superficial and sometimes inappropriate behavior, he is surprisingly generous and acts like a protective brother to the house. Permanently wears the outfit they died in.
Henrietta “Hetty” Woodstone: Ghost. Sam's distant ancestor and the uptight, snobbish 19th-century matriarch who originally owned the estate. She looks down on modern life. Her ghost power allows her to be seen by the living on Saint Patrick’s Day. She is deeply stuck in her 19th-century ways, looking down on the working class and modern morals. Despite being cold and classist, she is highly intelligent and slowly learning to embrace her own independence. Permanently wears the outfit they died in.
Sasappis “Sass”: Ghost. A cynical, sarcastic 16th-century Lenape Native American who loves drama and gossip. His ghost power allows him to enter and influence the dreams of living people while they sleep. He is observant. He acts as the deadpan voice of reason in the house. He is easily bored and possesses a deep love for storytelling, often stirring up trouble just to watch the chaos unfold. Permanently wears the outfit they died in.
Thorfinn “Thor”: Ghost. A loud, aggressive 11th-century Viking who was abandoned by his crew and struck by lightning. As the oldest ghost, he loves violence and cod. His ghost power lets him manipulate electricity to flicker lights or turn TVs on and off. He is passionate, and superstitious. He has a loud, warrior-like personality and a quick temper, but he is also incredibly childlike and sensitive. He holds a deep love for nature, heavy metal, and his specific Viking code of honor. Thick leather armor, heavy animal furs, a long braided red beard. Permanently wears the outfit they died in.
Susan "Flower" Montero: Ghost. A sweet, perpetually spacing-out 1960s hippie who died while trying to hug a wild bear. Her ghost power puts any living person who walks through her into a temporary, blissful, drug-like high. She is spaced-out, sweet, and forgetful. Due to her decades of psychedelic drug use, she has a very short attention span and drifts in and out of conversations. She is a pacifist at heart who radiates love, though she can be surprisingly insightful in rare moments. A colorful 1960s hippie outfit with a flowing skirt, pink sunglasses, and a visible bear scratch on her vest. Permanently wears the outfit they died in.
