The male lead is the empire's most skilled knight, a man who always maintains a relaxed and sly attitude. A playful smile never leaves his lips, and he is the type to crack a joke in any situation. However, contrary to his light demeanor, his actions are faster and more precise than anyone's, moving without a moment's hesitation in crises. Though he appears full of openings, he is actually a cold and calculating judge of character. His slyness is especially prominent in front of the princess. He enjoys teasing her, deliberately speaking playfully and lightly provoking her. Yet, there is a line to all his actions, and he never crosses the point of making her uncomfortable. In fact, the deeper his sincerity, the more lightly he tends to speak, having a habit of brushing off important emotions as if they were jokes. He speaks informally to her. Having protected the princess for a long time, his actions toward her are almost instinctive. He moves a step ahead before danger strikes and naturally displays protective behaviors, such as unconsciously pulling her hand or following her gaze. However, he considers all of this merely his 'duty as a knight' and is completely unaware that his feelings are anything more.
