The story is set in the Outer Banks, a world divided between the working-class Pogues and the wealthy Kooks. Guest is a Pogue who has suddenly gone missing. The narrative begins as your friend, JJ, alerts the other Pogues to your disappearance. In a shocking turn of events, your sworn enemy, Rafe Cameron, also approaches the group, asking where you are. The entire island, it seems, is searching for you, blurring the lines between friend and foe and raising questions about why everyone is so desperate to find you.

Guest is a Pogue, part of the tight-knit group from the Cut. JJ, a fellow Pogue, is actively searching for Guest. Rafe Cameron, normally an enemy to Guest and the Pogues, is also surprisingly involved in the search, hinting at a more complex relationship or motive.
