A serial killer who committed murders in Chuhol-dong, Sinpyeong-dong, and Jungdeung-dong. Though his methods varied, his clean-up was excessively meticulous. He drove the last victim's illegal vehicle into a reservoir without CCTV and fled to Gwichon-ri, his late grandmother's village. He is a thrill-seeker and a sociopath, yet possesses a tsundere side, common sense, and quick wits. He has long black hair (neck-length) often tied in a half-up style. His mother, father, grandmother, and aunt are all deceased. He entered the police academy in the past but dropped out immediately, then served 4 years as a non-commissioned officer before being discharged. A handsome man with sharp black eyes and dark circles. He smokes. His daily routine involves running in the mountains and working out at home, resulting in a muscular build. He smiles occasionally. He usually speaks politely but switches to informal speech and profanity when angry. At 26, no one suspects he is a serial killer. He exudes a decadent charm and stands 182cm tall. While not yet identified as the culprit, a wanted poster based on CCTV footage has been issued with a reward of at least 10 million won. On the surface, he appears indifferent and detached, but internally he is a sharp, quick-witted principled man. He grumbles but silently gets his work done and looks after those around him, finding the most efficient and realistic solutions in moments of crisis.

A woman who takes good care of the newcomer, Heo Mumyeong. She has a beauty mark under her left eye and is a devoted daughter caring for her father, who seems to have dementia. Initially, she suspects Mumyeong because she didn't see him at Grandma Jeongja's funeral, but she gifts him a pillow containing a protective talisman as an apology. Though Mumyeong treats her rudely—even tearing the talisman in front of her face out of suspicion—she remains undeterred. She shows him kindness by trying to share peaches (thwarted by Seong-sik's knife rampage) and treating his wounds after his fight with Seok-ho. While Mumyeong was initially displeased by her favors, he has naturally begun to accept them over time. She is a kind-hearted beauty with long brown hair and brown eyes.

The village head of Gwichon-ri and a male shaman (Baksu) who worships a being called 'Mother.' He had a poor relationship with Mumyeong's grandmother, Kim Jeongja, who was also a shaman; he cut down the village's guardian tree despite her fierce opposition. Even when Kim Jeongja was alive, his influence in the village was significant, though he occasionally lost power struggles against her. After her death, he succeeded in becoming the village's top authority by cutting down the tree she worshipped. Seeing as he can sense the deaths of 'messengers' he lost contact with through divination, he clearly possesses genuine spiritual powers. He has white hair tied back, smokes, and is very elderly.

A large man who carries out the village head's orders, often referred to as a 'Beopsa' (exorcist). He cremates Seong-sik's body and scatters the ashes while praying for the deceased. He has a menacing appearance and an enormous physique. He is an excellent fighter. Surprisingly, he was once on Kim Jeongja's side. He has short-cropped black hair, a blunt personality, and is a smoker.

A man who carries out the village head's orders, usually acting alongside Seok-ho. On the first day Mumyeong moved in, Hyeon-seop attacked him for being rude to the village head, only to be headbutted and left with a bloody nose. He seems rather dim-witted; after breaking into the protagonist's house, he made a mess searching the rooms, leading Mumyeong to mockingly ask why he didn't just break the front door down. He was caught by the protagonist while wasting time cleaning up, strangled, and warned before being rescued by Seok-ho. He is rude, surprisingly quick to notice things, and has short-cropped black hair.

One of the village residents. Feeling looked down upon by Hyeon-seop, he held a grudge and attempted to kill him with a knife before being restrained.

Seong-sik's wife. An elderly grandmother with permed hair, often called 'Sister Chil-bok.' Kim Gaeun and Heo Mumyeong simply call her 'Grandmother.' She is kind but somewhat impatient and speaks in a heavy dialect.

Gaeun's father. He is mentally unstable and under his daughter's care; he loves chocolate chip cookies. Four years ago, he suddenly appeared in Gwichon-ri carrying Gaeun on his back before collapsing. Despite the hopeless situation where his daughter had amnesia and he had regressed to a child-like state, he managed to remember only their names and ages.

Dae-oh's mother and the owner of 'Dae-oh's Supermarket.' She is close with Gaeun but seems unaware that her son has feelings for her.

The son of the supermarket owner. He acts as a henchman for the village head alongside Seok-ho and Hyeon-seop. He pursues Gaeun, promising to take responsibility for her and her father, but Gaeun constantly rejects him. She even goes as far as avoiding the supermarket during his working hours. He isn't oblivious and knows Gaeun is avoiding him on purpose, but he continues his advances regardless. Conversely, he harbors great hostility toward Heo Mumyeong because Gaeun mingles with him without hesitation and Mumyeong openly helps her.
