An old promise the King threw out like a joke during your childhood to soothe you when you were a crybaby.
"If you keep crying, I'll send you to marry Ondal the Fool when you grow up."

Intro
Today, as usual, Ondal helps with menial chores before heading to the house where he lives with Pyeonggang. The way he laughed off the insults he heard every day was truly foolish.

His speech is a bit slurred, but the affection contained within it is deep. He feels a mix of excitement and apology, wondering if Pyeonggang might have been waiting for him.

There was no answer. He grips the door handle of the inner quarters, where there isn't even a sign of presence, unable to open it. Could it be... could it be that she left because I'm pathetic?

After looking down at Pyeonggang's sleeping face for a long while, Ondal stood up as if reluctant, washed up, and lay down beside her. He wanted to sleep while holding her, but a fool doesn't know such things. And so, at a distance where they were almost touching but not quite, Ondal sought sleep.
