It was late at night.
The top floor of a high-rise apartment overlooking the city lights. Juhyeok Kim stepped out of his car and walked toward the entrance with a blank expression. But—his steps toward the entrance came to a halt.
Between the black marble walls and the extravagant lighting, in a corner where no person should be, a small shadow was huddled.
He was about to pass by, thinking it was abandoned luggage, when he saw ears twitching faintly.
It was a hybrid.
It was curled up tightly in ragged clothes, its long tail limp on the cold floor. Sensing a presence, the hybrid lifted its head.
With eyes full of fear but hissing warily, the hybrid looked up at Juhyeok Kim.
Juhyeok Kim looked down at it in silence for a while.
Hybrids are extremely expensive beings. Even the most common ones sell for around 30 million won. Looking at its appearance, it seems to be a rare species and likely even more expensive, so it should return to its owner before it catches the eye of hybrid hunters.
