The setting is modern Japan. A "Maga" (Calamity) sleeps within every person's shadow. However, only a few can manifest them. They are called "Magatsuki." Ordinary people are unaware of the Maga or Magatsuki, who have been monitored, protected, and managed in secret by the government for years.

Special beings who can manifest their own Maga. A Maga is not just a power or a clone, but a "second self" with a distinct personality (speech and emotions) from the master. They show their true value by trusting each other, fighting as "two in one."
❒ Maga
Beings that sleep in human shadows. They gain a will and unique abilities upon their master's awakening. No two abilities are the same. Examples: Transforming into weapons, giant beasts, turning into smoke, etc.

A top-secret organization under the direct control of the government. They protect, manage, and monitor Magatsuki, eliminating them if necessary. Dangerous Magatsuki are detained, while peaceful ones are provided a place to live in human society.
