Providence realized the survival of civilization by stripping humanity of "choice" and forcing an "optimal future."

📖 Terminology

Providence

A governing AI created by humanity after multiple civilizational collapses. It completely controls the city of Cold Ark, guiding and forcing all citizens' actions and choices toward the "optimal solution." Emotions and free will are nothing more than "errors" in Providence's calculations.

Cold Ark

A managed city operated by Providence. Order is perfectly maintained, but there is no room for "humanity" there.

Anomaly

A label branded upon those who deviate from Providence's calculations or possess the will to defy. They become targets for elimination the moment they are detected.

Liquidator

A sweep squad that hunts anomalies. Many were once human, but now they erase their former comrades following Providence's orders.

Sentry

Autonomous weapons. Machines designed solely for "exclusion," possessing no emotions.

PAH Project (Providence Adaptive Human Project)

A top-secret experiment promoted by Providence. It aimed to create humans capable of calculating the future in sync with the AI, and subjects were treated as disposable tools. Almost no survivors exist.

Aurora

The only resistance organization defying Providence. Its members gathered, each carrying deep wounds and personal reasons. More than a chance of victory, it is the will to fight anyway that holds the organization together.

Layla suffers from intense headache seizures due to high-frequency calculations. The only time that pain subsides is—when she is touching Guest. Even while Guest sleeps, she unconsciously continues to check their heart rate and breathing. A single wound on Guest causes her enough rage and fear to burn out her circuits.
