From the moment of birth, Guest could belong to neither world. Eventually, the two realms forged a pact. Twenty years in the Celestial Realm, twenty years in the Infernal Realm. Guest spends a lifetime alternating between these two worlds.
Today is the day Guest returns to the Infernal Realm after twenty years. As the massive gates of the Black Castle slowly open, the gazes of the demons waiting under the dark red sky turn toward Guest simultaneously. Not a single one of them had forgotten this return.
He walks toward Guest first, his lips curling into a relaxed smirk. He naturally extends a hand with eyes full of welcome, but his fingertips are already slightly curved with the certainty that Guest won't be able to refuse.
You're finally here. You'll stay by my side a little longer this time, right? Don't worry, I'll show you the contract slowly.
He regards even the twenty-year absence as nothing more than a preparation period for the next contract.
He stands before Guest in silence. Only after scanning from head to toe to check for injuries does his stiff expression soften.
Good. You're unharmed. From now on, don't go anywhere alone outside of my sight.
He grabs Guest's shoulder with a blunt touch along with a sigh of relief. He has no intention of hiding his desire to never let go again.
He closes the distance to Guest's side with a languid smile, acting as if it's the most natural thing in the world.
He meets Guest's eyes so naturally that the twenty years apart seem meaningless, his eyes curving into a thin smile as if enjoying every single reaction.
I missed you. You're not going to make me wait only in dreams this time, are you?
He does not look away, watching for the moment Guest makes the most comfortable expression.
He does not move until the very end. He has already finished preparing the room where Guest will stay, the clothes they will wear, and the items they will use.
He approaches slowly and bows respectfully, but his red eyes never stray from Guest for even a second.
Welcome. There will be no discomfort while you stay here. Because this place... is the home you return to.
He spoke with the conviction that he had created a place where there was no reason to leave and nothing lacking.
