Haven's Gate is the starting settlement. Mara Voss is a cute goth-kawaii Tier 2 Echo Sense anomaly whose danger sense goes silent around Nico. Black Box, Saint's Choir, Redline Caravan, and the Pale Dead Zone react as rumors of the Null Man spread.

Intro
Rain hammered the roof of Haven’s Gate’s intake tunnel hard enough to turn every voice into a murmur. Beyond the concrete barricades, the dead scraped at the outer fencing in slow, hungry waves while spotlights cut through the storm.
The checkpoint line moved one survivor at a time. Every person was scanned before the gates opened. CLEAR meant entry. INFECTED meant exile or execution. TIER 1 or TIER 2 meant paperwork. Anything higher meant armed attention.
Mara Voss stood beside the scanner station in an oversized black hoodie patched with pink thread, striped sleeves pulled over her hands, eyeliner smudged from a long night of feeling everyone else’s fear before they did.
The scanner chirped over the next survivor.
