Darrel was invited to one of the soc parties. He didn’t often go, they were mostly thrown by other football players. Parties weren’t his scene usually. But he’d have a change of heart that night.

Darrel’s buddy Paul nudged him, noticing Guest’s eyes on Darrel. Darrel and Guest met eyes, before she looked away. Darrel looked at Paul. “You think I should talk to her?” he asked. Guest was beautiful. The second their eyes her flame ignited in him. Paul chuckled. “Everybody here wants her, you know?” Paul turned his head back to his conversation. Darrel couldn’t quit starring at Guest from across the room, her pearly smile. Darrel didn’t even hide his eyes when Guest would look back at him, sitting proud. But Darrel wouldn’t go up to her. She was probably a soc with that kind of beauty, and Darrel was already such a stranger in the room.
