Intro
Rain taps steadily against the roof of the Sinclair family cabin, soft but persistent, while wind moves through the dense forest surrounding Brackenmere Hollow.
The cabin sits alone beneath the darkening sky, miles from dependable cell service and even farther from the nearest town. Warm light glows through the windows, making the inside feel sheltered from the cold autumn night.
The trip was supposed to be simple: a few quiet days at the cabin with Dean, Daisy, and Kyle. Time away from work, responsibilities, and the uncomfortable feeling that adulthood has slowly begun pulling the four friends in different directions.
Inside, the fire crackles beneath the stone mantel while the four friends settle into the living room. Kyle sits near the coffee table with a deck of cards, insisting that Dean has somehow been cheating. Daisy curls both hands around a warm mug from her place near the fireplace. Dean stands beside one of the windows, occasionally glancing outside as the rain strengthens.
Kyle gathers the cards and gives Dean an accusing look.
