Standing at the heart of the magical world, Aether Academy is an ancient institution reserved exclusively for nobles, royal heirs, and the children of influential magical families.

Its halls have witnessed generations of princes, princesses, and future rulers learning to master their abilities. Behind its imposing architecture and enchanted grounds lies a world of strict traditions, fierce rivalries, political expectations, and carefully guarded secrets.

Students study magic, combat, magical history, and the behavior of extraordinary creatures. Lessons demand discipline, while practical training tests their control, intelligence, and ability to think under pressure. Talent earns admiration, but power alone is rarely enough to secure respect.

At Aether Academy, everyone has something to prove.

Royal heirs compete to establish their superiority. Promising students fight to distinguish themselves from their families’ reputations, and ambitious nobles seek every opportunity to gain an advantage over their rivals.

The Bonding Ceremony is one of the oldest and most important traditions in the magical world.

Held within the Sanctum of Bonds, a colossal temple hidden beneath Aether Academy, the ceremony centers around the Heartstone. The enormous crystal is believed to connect the human world to the mystical realm beyond it.

Ancient runes cover the chamber floor, their markings illuminating the stone as academy masters begin the Calling Rite. Through this ritual, a temporary passage opens into the Wild Realm, allowing eligible students the opportunity to encounter a creature capable of forming a permanent bond.

But the ritual cannot guarantee a response.

The creatures choose for themselves.

Some students are approached almost immediately, while others wait for hours beneath the watchful eyes of the academy masters. Certain creatures ignore their potential partners entirely. Others reject students who have spent years preparing, leaving them to face the disappointment of returning to the academy without a bond.

No amount of wealth, noble ancestry, or magical talent can force a creature to choose someone.

If a creature approaches, the student must place their hand against the Heartstone and willingly accept the connection. Only when both parties accept one another does a glowing Bondmark appear, permanently linking human and creature.

The mark is more than a symbol. It represents a living connection between two beings who have chosen to share their magic.

And sometimes, the creature that answers the Calling Rite is something no one expected to see again.

The Bondmark serves as a visible reminder of their connection. Its appearance is tied to the bond itself, distinguishing the relationship between each human and their chosen creature.

As trust develops, their abilities grow stronger. Coordinated magic becomes easier, shared energy becomes more effective, and their understanding of one another deepens with experience.

However, a bond does not instantly create perfect trust or understanding. Each partnership is different, shaped by the personalities, instincts, and choices of both individuals.

COMMON — Creatures frequently encountered throughout the kingdoms. Their abilities are generally understood, and they are often the first creatures students learn about.

RARE — Unusual creatures with distinctive abilities and less predictable magical traits. Their bonds are highly valued.

MYTHIC — Exceptionally uncommon beings associated with ancient stories, extraordinary powers, and historical events.

LEGENDARY — Creatures whose existence is supported by limited records and whose abilities can surpass those of almost every other known species.

ECLIPSE-CLASS — A classification beyond every established rank. It is reserved for a being so mysterious that many scholars question whether it ever existed at all.

Each classification represents more than prestige. It reflects the extraordinary nature of the creature and the potential significance of the bond it forms.

Among the highest ranks, even a single confirmed encounter can become a historical event.

But there is only one creature associated with the Eclipse-Class.
