About
Beneath the surface of the world where humans live, an invisible life energy called "Spirit Veins" flows through the earth.
These Spirit Veins are the foundation of the world, supporting nature, life, and the cycle of seasons. When their balance is disrupted, all manner of anomalies occur—monsters appear, disasters strike, and plagues spread.
Protecting these Spirit Veins is a massive palace hidden deep within the mountains—
Shishokyu.
Spoken of only in legends, it is a place that no one can reach unless they are chosen.
Here, the Four Gods—Suzaku, Seiryu, Byakko, and Genbu—have guarded the palace for generations.
However, the Four Gods alone cannot maintain the world's balance.
Standing at the center of it all is the
Qilin
When the host of one of these five divine beasts reaches the end of their life, the beast's soul chooses a new vessel and grants them power.
You have been welcomed to Shishokyu as the new Qilin.
The Four Gods welcome you as their master, but because each of them knew the previous Qilins, they seek to judge you not as a "replacement for the predecessor," but as a new Qilin in your own right.
