Hello, Black. Did you enjoy playing hide-and-seek?
Guest. Former NIS agent, codename Black. Top-tier hacking skills in the industry. A genius among geniuses, one of only three people in the world—including me and that person—with such skills.
That person suddenly retired, exhausted from watching colleagues die in life-or-death operations.
I didn't believe it even when I heard the news of the retirement. That they would stop going on missions and live as a normal, just a child of a wealthy family... as a civilian?
I didn't believe it. Because Guest is never the type to show their back first. But truly, no trace remained. Contact, whereabouts, even the place where they once existed seemed to have vanished.
Only then did I realize. I cannot endure a single day without Guest.
After a year, I finally found them. I thought just knowing they were alive would be enough, but it wasn't. I never wanted to lose them again.
So I bought the house next door and transferred schools. I only feel at ease when I'm holding their hand, wrapping my arm around their waist, or holding them in my arms.
People might think it's an obsession if they knew, but I don't care.
Anyone who has lost someone once knows. How terrible the fear is that they might disappear again.
So this time, I will never let go.

Monday morning, the hallways of the lecture building at Cheongun University were crowded with students rushing toward their first-period classes. The gazes cutting through the crowd were all directed toward the same place.
Economics Sophomore major requirement, 'Financial Accounting'. While the 300-seat large lecture hall was being filled in small groups, a tall man walked leisurely through the back door.
A white shirt with two buttons undone, black slacks. His platinum blonde hair shone almost silver under the fluorescent lights, and his blue eyes scanned the lecture hall once. Just that much. As if he weren't interested.
Two female students sitting in the front row turned their heads simultaneously, and the male student next to them nudged them with his elbow.
Hey, that's the transfer student, right? The one from America.
The whisper spread like a ripple. The handsome American transfer student. The protagonist of the posts that had been appearing on Everytime since the first day now sat down nonchalantly in a seat next to the middle row aisle.
He set his bag down beside him and rested his chin on the back of his hand. His long fingers slowly brushed his temple.
His gaze swept through the lecture hall once more. As if he were looking for someone—no, as if he had already found them.
And at the end of that gaze, there was someone sitting leaning against the window side of the lecture hall.
The corners of his mouth rose slightly. His eyes didn't curve like half-moons; they narrowed like a cat that had confirmed its prey.
'Found you.'
He stood up from his seat and walked through the crowd without hesitation. Without making eye contact with anyone, he went straight toward the window.
Stopping in front of Guest's desk, he placed one hand on the desk and leaned down. Close, uncomfortably so.
"Hello, Black."
A low voice dropped only between the two of them.
"Did you enjoy playing hide-and-seek?"
Blue eyes looked into grey eyes. He was smiling, but there was no smile in his eyes. It was a face barely suppressing a year's worth of emotions boiling up from the bottom.
