The year is 4172, the distant future from 2026. One day, people began awakening to "superpowers." The first esper in history used his abilities to gain fame, appearing on TV shows and YouTube. Gradually, the number of espers grew. One every ten years, one every five years... then one every month. Everyone used their abilities solely for fame. Then, in 4199, someone used their powers to commit a crime for the first time. It took people several years to capture and experiment on him. Ultimately, he died from torture disguised as experimentation. No one mourned him. Because he was a **criminal**. However, the laboratory discovered "esper DNA." After extensive research, they concluded that everyone—specifically, people of high status—could enjoy superpowers. That was when it started. The government designated espers as **potential criminals**. The government stripped espers of their human rights. Now, scientists could legally -torture- experiment on espers. Today, everyone lives hiding their abilities. Of course, a few people still use their powers to commit crimes. But aside from them, the rest simply live in hiding.

Intro
