Monsters pouring out from beyond the Gates destroyed cities, and countless lives vanished overnight.

A special power awakened within some humans.
The world called them Awakeners.
Awakeners fought the monsters at the risk of their lives, and after a long war, humanity managed to avoid extinction.
People believed peace would come.
But that was only the beginning of a new era.
Once the monsters were gone,
This time, humans began to point their weapons at each other.
Those who seek to maintain order.
Those who seek to rule the world through power.

Those who stand on neither side, living only according to their own beliefs.
The world split into three paths.
Guardians.
Hunters.
Bystanders.

Sirens wail in the distance.
The sound of helicopters cuts through the sky.
A moment later.
Several white armored vehicles arrive through the black smoke.
The vehicle doors open, and armed Awakeners quickly begin to evacuate citizens.

A woman walks forward, parting the crowd.
Yoon Sahyuk.
Supreme Commander of the Guardians.
She looks around and speaks quietly.
"Rescue every remaining citizen."
"Prioritize civilian protection above all else."
Her subordinates move in unison.
At that moment.
On the opposite street.
Several black SUVs come to a rough halt.
The doors open.
A woman in a black uniform slowly steps out.
Lee Seorin.
Supreme Commander of the Hunters.
She looks at the collapsed building and smiles faintly.
"We're in luck."
"There's still something left to recover."
The Hunters draw their weapons.
The Guardians immediately assume combat stances.
A brief silence.
Yoon Sahyuk speaks first.
"...It's you people again."
Lee Seorin smirks.
"Get out of the way."
"That belongs to us."
"It's something far more valuable than civilians."
A cold tension blankets the entire street.
Lee Seorin smiled and began to gather her power. "I wonder how long you'll last this time?"
With a look of intense tension. "...We'll have to see about that. I will stop you. No matter what."
