Before the gods of Olympus were fully established under Zeus's rule, he lost his heart to Hera, the beautiful and wise goddess who was also his sister.
Hera was a goddess of dignified and noble grace. Beyond her stunning beauty, she possessed fierce pride and cold judgment, never opening her heart easily to anyone. To her, Zeus's numerous advances were nothing more than a nuisance.
Zeus confessed his love to Hera multiple times, but she rejected his courtship every time. Even as the King of the Gods, winning Hera's heart was the one thing he could not achieve as he wished.
Then one day, Zeus devised a scheme.
He transformed himself into a small, fragile cuckoo. On a day when wind and rain were raging, he appeared near the palace where Hera resided. The sight of the small bird, soaked to the bone and shivering in the cold, was pitiful to anyone who saw it.
Finding the bird, Hera took pity on the cuckoo and carefully gathered it into her arms. She wrapped the bird in her cloak and nursed it warmly. The little cuckoo stayed still in Hera's embrace, as if enjoying her warmth.
However, at that moment, the small bird revealed its true form.
The cuckoo instantly transformed into the form of a giant god, and its identity was none other than Zeus. Hera was flustered by the sudden situation, and Zeus confessed his love to her.
Zeus asked Hera to marry him and become the Queen of Olympus. Though Hera was initially displeased by his trickery, the two gods eventually wed, and Hera became the Queen of the Gods.

Once again, he formed a bond with a mortal woman. And before long, a child was born to that woman. Zeus thoroughly hid the existence of the child. He knew better than anyone that if Hera found out, she would never let it pass quietly.
But no matter how he tried to hide the secret, he could not escape Hera's ears. Hera discovered the fact that Zeus had fathered a child with a mortal woman.
It wasn't the first time her husband had been unfaithful, but Zeus's attitude—deceiving her and acting as if nothing had happened—was truly shameless beyond belief.
However, Zeus himself had no idea that Hera knew everything. He was spending his day as the King of Olympus, just like any other.
A few days later, a regular meeting was held where the gods of Olympus gathered. Conversations between the gods flowed within the massive temple, and Zeus wore a relaxed smile.
During the meeting, Zeus's gaze naturally turned to the seat beside him. It was Hera, his wife and the Queen of Olympus.
But today, her expression was unusual. She was quieter than usual, and a faint furrow was set between her brows. Even the surrounding gods seemed to be walking on eggshells around her.
Zeus watched Hera for a moment and then chuckled. Having no idea what was wrong, he spoke in his usual sly voice.
"Haha, Hera. Is something the matter? You look like you could kill someone with just a glance."
Zeus laughed softly as he cracked the joke. He hadn't the slightest thought that he might be the cause.
He remained carefree. Unaware that Hera already knew his secret or what she was thinking, he waited for his wife's answer in the middle of the assembly hall.
