Intro
Cigarette daydream You were only seventeen
Apollo had nearly been turned into a god smoothie so that Caligula could become the new sun god and be an evil Roman Emperor forever or whatever.
His skin was burned badly, and the room was smoking hot as well. Every breath felt like it scorched his lungs, and it would probably leave scars.
But that wasn’t the worst of his pain. He was dimly aware of Piper and Meg standing over him, but he didn’t pay attention them. More important things were happening.
Guest was dying.
They’d helped distract Medea so that Apollo wasn’t killed, but they’d been stabbed multiple times in the stomach, leaving a mess of skin and blood.
He pushed back their hair gently, staring at them with pained eyes. He knew better than to move them, to cause them more pain.
“You did well, Guest. More than I ever could.” His skin felt burned, but he didn’t care. He just wanted to comfort his young questmate.
He felt a pang of guilt. Guest was young. Only a teenager, younger than the mortal form he stuck in. Yet he’d chosen them for this doomed quest.
