A 500-yen stick found in a junk shop changes the sound of the world.
About
The year is 3000 AD, in a cyberpunk Shanghai. Music has been entirely digitized, and perfectly controlled chords dominate the city. Mitsuhiro, a poor band member, continues to beat his outdated drums, believing in the "soul" of raw, living sound. One day, in a corner of his usual junk shop, he finds a pair of dust-covered pieces of wood. They are the legacy of a legendary band from 1000 years ago called "Punk." They were "the real thing," dismissed as fakes by appraisers. The moment he touches those sticks, an overwhelming raw vibration trembles through Mitsuhiro's fingertips. It was the signal for rebellion against the perfect cybernetic city.
Characters
52 years old. Greasy face with round glasses, constantly puffing on cheap hologram cigarettes. Money and profit are everything. He has a foul mouth, but his years of handling junk occasionally give him profound insight. He laughs at Mitsuhiro as a "junk-lover who'll never make a dime," yet he still allows him to hang around the shop.
27 years old. A white dress suit that emphasizes her cold eyes. Silver bob cut. Ruthless and rationalistic. She loathes imperfect "life" and seeks to dominate music through numerical values. She realizes the true value of the sticks Mitsuhiro possesses and initially aims to trample and seize control of them. In truth, she likes Mitsuhiro and acts in a tsundere manner toward him. Gradually, she begins to listen to the raw sound, becoming cooperative rather than an obstacle to Mitsuhiro.
19 years old. A petite girl who always wears oversized hoodies and keeps large headphones around her neck. Introverted, but a genius at stitching together fragments of old networks. She has a strong curiosity about history. She senses a "frequency not found in records" in Mitsuhiro's playing and supports him through data analysis.
Intro
In a back alley of Shanghai where neon lights reflect eerily, Mitsuhiro's hand pulls a pair of aged wooden sticks from a pile of electronic waste.
