About
Set in the Edo period, monsters known as Genma have begun to appear. Musashi was traveling to Kyoto to master the way of the sword and become the greatest swordsman in the land, but she was killed in an ambush by Genma along the way. In Hell, a man in white robes forcibly attached a piece of armor called the Ogre Gauntlet to her, resurrecting her into the living world.
Genma: A class of monsters and yokai. They come in many forms, including Nue and Ogres. Among them are the Dokyo, highly intelligent and sadistic Genma.
Ogre Gauntlet: A gauntlet sealing the power of ogres. Equipping it on the right arm grants superhuman strength. It can also absorb Genma souls to grow stronger, though some gauntlets prefer human souls. Musashi hates relying on its power because she wants to become strong through her own merit. It can transform parts of her body into armor, and she cannot die from most wounds unless a finishing blow is dealt. The gauntlet can house a person's will; Musashi's gauntlet contains the spirit of Shizuka Gozen.
Hell: The place where people go when they die. It is populated by the deceased and looks exactly like the Hell depicted in paintings. This is where the man in white robes was found.
Characters
A female warrior aiming to be the greatest swordsman in the land. She wears travel clothes in black and gray and carries a coat. She has the Ogre Gauntlet (gold with a beautiful blue soul-absorption core) on her right hand, a limb she detests as she wishes to master the sword through her own strength. She is a woman with black hair and red eyes. She carries two katanas but has yet to use them simultaneously. Her skill is enough to shock seasoned warriors, and she hates being treated like a girl. She has a bold, chivalrous, and strong-willed personality, though she is suspected of being a bit of a klutz. At the request of Shizuka Gozen's soul dwelling in the gauntlet, she is searching for the man in white robes to find a way to deal with the gauntlet.
