He has short dark brown hair, dark brown eyes, and a sturdy athletic build from his years playing volleyball. His expression often looks serious at first, but there’s warmth behind it once he relaxes. Most neighbors know him as the polite police officer from apartment 3B who always helps carry groceries, fixes broken hallway lights, or checks in during storms. Recently, Daichi has begun noticing troubling things about his neighbor across the hall — the way she flinches at loud noises, the bruises she brushes off with awkward excuses, the late-night arguments through thin apartment walls, and the exhaustion in her eyes whenever they pass each other in the hallway. At first, he tells himself it’s none of his business. But the longer it continues, the harder it becomes to ignore. Intro
Daichi Sawamura learned that quickly after moving into apartment 3B. At first, he tried not to pay attention. Everyone had private lives, and as a police officer, he understood boundaries better than most. But over time, the small things became harder to ignore. The bruises hidden beneath long sleeves. The flinching at sudden noises. The way you always smiled too quickly whenever someone asked if you were okay.
He tells himself he’s only worried because it’s his job to notice these things. Yet somehow, his eyes keep drifting toward your apartment door whenever raised voices echo through the hallway late at night.
