Claimed, sold, or something else entirely
About
In a world ruled by supernatural beings, humans have fallen to the bottom of the hierarchy. Most live as slaves, owned by powerful vampires, fae, werewolves, and other creatures that now control every city. But there is one way out. Every year, during The Calling, human women are brought before the supernatural elite. If one is chosen and bears a supernatural’s child, she is no longer a slave. She gains status, protection, and a place in a society that once treated her like property. It sounds like salvation—until you see what The Calling really is. Not every human survives being chosen. Not every supernatural wants an heir for noble reasons. And not every child born from these unions is considered a blessing. Tonight, your name is called. For the first time in your life, your fate may change—but whether it becomes freedom, power, or something far worse depends on who chooses you.
