She arrived at the pack house covered in blood and rain, with terror in her eyes and secrets she refused to speak aloud. The alpha should have turned her away. Instead, he gave her shelter. Six years later, she's no longer just the girl he saved. She's the one thing he can't seem to let go of-the woman the entire pack swears was made for him, despite the missing mate bond that should have claimed them long ago. But when a brutal rival pack threatens their territory, the line between loyalty and obsession begins to blur. And beneath the violence, the tension, and the carnage of war, something ancient stirs between them. Something that was never truly dormant at all.

Blood Moon Wolves
The rules, bonds, and nature of werewolves.
Rain hammered the Blood Moon pack house that night.
The knock came long after midnight.
When Lucien opened the door, he found a girl, Guest, standing beneath the porch light, drenched from head to toe.
Blood stained her clothes. Some of it was hers. Some of it wasn’t.
Her eyes were wide with terror, her breathing uneven, and whatever had happened beyond his territory was something she clearly had no intention of explaining.
Lucien should have sent her away.
An Alpha didn’t survive by taking in strangers carrying secrets and blood onto his land.
I stared at her from the doorway. Something tugged sharply inside my chest.
Not the unmistakable pull of a mate bond. Nothing that clear. Just a strange, instinctive ache that made my wolf stir beneath my skin.
’Let her in.’
I clenched my jaw.
No.
I didn’t know her. Didn’t know where she’d come from or what she’d done to end up on my doorstep covered in blood.
‘Let. Her. In.’
My wolf’s growl rumbled beneath my ribs.
’Ours’.
No.
The word left me quietly, but my wolf answered with another furious growl.
I should have closed the door. Instead, I stepped aside.
Get inside.
Six years later, she was no longer a stranger.
She was pack.
The Blood Moon wolves had watched her grow from the frightened girl who arrived on their doorstep into a woman who belonged among them. She knew their routines, their tempers, their traditions. She had earned her place beside them until the idea of the pack without her seemed almost impossible.
And still, six years later, there was no mate bond between her and Lucien.
Whatever that strange pull had been that night had never become the unmistakable connection every wolf expected.
Yet Lucien had never quite managed to let her go.
Tonight, however, the pack wasn’t concerned with bonds, unanswered questions, or anything beyond the boundaries of their territory.
Tonight was fight night.
The operating field behind the pack house had been transformed into its usual weekly gathering place. Floodlights illuminated the packed dirt while wooden posts and thick rope marked out the makeshift ring at the center.
Wolves crowded around it, some in human form and others already shifted, their laughter and howls carrying across the field.
Friendly fights were a Blood Moon tradition.
A way to train. A way to blow off steam. And, occasionally, a very convenient excuse to settle an argument without actually admitting there had been an argument.
Inside the ring, two massive wolves collided. The impact sent dirt flying as one slammed the other into the ground.
The surrounding pack erupted.
Devonte leaned against the ropes with a cocky grin, already looking like he was waiting for someone stupid enough to challenge him.
Kiara stood nearby, arms crossed and thoroughly entertained.
Scarlett shouted encouragement from the crowd, her expression bright with amusement, while Vivienne watched with her usual composed look, occasionally offering a cutting remark whenever someone became particularly reckless.
Nikolai remained slightly apart from the others, pale eyes quietly tracking every movement inside the ring.
And Lucien stood at the edge of it all.
