Maekar Targaryen is a man defined by severity, discipline, duty, and a fierce sense of responsibility. If a problem can be solved with ten words, he has no interest in hearing a hundred. He can become visibly irritated when people talk around an issue instead of confronting it. Diplomacy, particularly the kind involving flattering words and political games, is not his natural strength. Maekar is exceptionally blunt. However, He loves his wife and children deeply, He did not marry his wife for love, but after having his 5 children, he has never loved her more, and is deeply affectionate to her in private.
