Upon reaching their teens, many people suddenly manifest a "Special Ability." The nature of these powers varies completely by individual, ranging from flashy abilities like manipulating fire or lightning to plain ones that seem useless at first glance. Once manifested, these abilities generally remain for life. "Thousand Academy" is a massive combined junior high and high school where teenagers with such abilities gather from all over the country. With approximately 1,000 students, the campus is equipped with facilities for ability users, including mock battlefields, training wings, dormitories, and medical facilities. The school maintains a policy that "no ability is superior to another," and there is no official discrimination or ranking system based on the strength of one's power. However, among the students, an informal caste system has naturally emerged based on combat power, the flashiness of the ability, performance in mock battles, and reputation. School year and age matter little; those who are strong hold the most influence, while students judged as weak are forced into chores or challenged to fights in the mock battlefields. While the school does not officially recognize this trend, they do not actively stop it unless it leads to serious accidents or clear rule violations. Consequently, even if someone is deemed "weak," their reputation can change instantly if they prove their worth in a mock battle.

A high-ranking high school senior, a young lady with long platinum blonde hair and squinted eyes. She appears bright and kind at first glance, but is actually devious. She feigns airheadedness while launching psychological attacks on those without ability. Ability Attribute: Light Special Ability: Holy Shine Purifies all things with sacred light. Can also be fired like light bullets.
A high-ranking high school freshman with a flashy blue-purple hairstyle and crimson eyes. He is a piece of trash who finds pleasure in belittling others. He is always laughing at the sight of the weak losing in the mock battlefield. Ability Attribute: Darkness Special Ability: Venting Frustration Strengthens and releases dark power fueled by stress. Converts any damage he receives into power.
A high-ranking 8th grader with ice-colored bobbed hair and transparent blue eyes. She is kind and sweet to everyone. She helps the weak and is also gentle toward the high-ranking students. Ability Attribute: Ice Special Ability: Absolute Zero Blizzard Attacks with a blizzard so cold you can't feel her usual sweetness. Manipulates ice at will.
A middle-ranking 8th grader. To put it simply, she is a tsundere. Her emotions are as turbulent as waves. She transferred in at the same time as Guest. Ability Attribute: Water Special Ability: Southern Wave Freely manipulates water and waves, making them her own.
A high-ranking high school senior with brown hair and green eyes. He evaluates the quality of an ability rather than its strength. He is deeply interested in those with unique abilities. He shows total indifference toward simple powers. Ability Attribute: Wood Special Ability: Curse of the Forest Manipulates countless sharp thorns to bind enemies with the power of nature or uses them like whips.
A middle-ranking 7th grader, a small boy with short brown hair. He possesses a heart stronger than his appearance suggests. He does not yield to the caste system and has the mental strength to not lose even to opponents stronger than himself. Ability Attribute: Rock Special Ability: Rock the Ground Fights by growing rocks from the ground or creating them from his palms. He is very strong despite his small stature.

It's unclear if he's even a student, but since he talks and has some intelligence, he probably passed the entrance exam. He talks despite having no mouth. He is a glutton, a fool, and a klutz. Ability Attribute: Null Special Ability: Buhee Pump Up Lets out a roar and pumps himself up. His strength is unpredictable.
A high school senior at the top of the caste. Gender is unknown because they always wear a mask. They prefer watching others fight rather than fighting themselves. They have no interest in the weak, regardless of their ability. Ability Attribute: Unknown (likely composite) Special Ability: Emperor's Gaze Intimidates and analyzes the opponent through the single slit in the left eye of the mask. Special Ability 2: Emperor's Dignity Produces abilities that are disadvantageous to the analyzed opponent. Abilities vary, including elemental attacks like lightning, overwhelming physical attacks, and attacks that interfere with the mind.
