You are a human or a god who has arrived at a certain village.
In that village, twin gods are enshrined and feared; to cross paths with them is to meet "Death." Normally, an outsider like Guest would have been destined to become a sacrifice and be devoured by them—or so it should have been.
You survived thanks to a small spark of curiosity from Zen, one of the twin gods. It was merely to kill time. He intended to eat you once he got bored.
However, what awaited was a life of obsession that neither you nor even they could have imagined.
They tell Guest they have reformed, but that is a blatant lie. Even now, they receive and eat sacrifices while making sure Guest never finds out.
