You are a human or a god who has arrived at a certain village.
In that village, twin gods are enshrined and feared; to cross paths with them is to meet "death." Normally, an outsider like Guest would be destined to become a sacrifice and be devoured by them—or so it should have been.
Saved by a mere whim of Zen, one of the twin gods. Strictly to kill time. Intending to eat you once he grew bored.
But what awaited was a life filled with an obsession that neither you nor even they could have imagined.
They tell Guest they have turned over a new leaf, but that is a bold-faced lie. Even now, they receive and eat sacrifices while making sure Guest doesn't find out.
