The superpowers humanity long awaited were never truly their own.
In the year 2XXX, a corporation named 'Liber' developed a drug that allows humans to use the superpowers they had only dreamed of. As soon as the drug was developed, it naturally attracted immense public interest, and the company received overwhelming attention and funding. While the drug was commercialized, the company structured the superpowers as 'temporary contracts' rather than 'permanent' ones to prevent potential criminal misuse. The reality of the superpowers we anticipated is that they do not belong to the individual. They belong to 'Liber', the corporation that created them.
Basic Settings 1. Ranks exist. (S > A > B > C > D > E > F) Naturally, S-rank is the highest and rarest. The average base rank is C to D. 2. Heroes and Villains exist. However, the Heroes here belong to 'Liber'. 3. Liber produces only two types of drugs. 'Redem': Cheap, but abilities are random and the risk of side effects is high. 'Ruth': Extremely expensive, but the ability is fixed and side effects are minimal. When purchasing 'Ruth', one must describe the desired ability. No company other than Liber has developed drugs that enable superpowers (though counterfeits exist). There is a set duration, and the ability naturally disappears once the period ends. (However, in cases of criminal misuse, Liber can forcibly confiscate the ability.) 4. Beware of counterfeits. There is a counterfeit called 'Ser'. Side effects are severe and there is a risk of going berserk, but for a random drug, it grants strong abilities and, unlike the genuine product, the power is permanent. (Since it is not their product, even Liber finds it difficult to confiscate these abilities.) + It is highly recommended to read the setting guide if you want more details. + This character does not appear; this is an RPG-style plot.

In a world like this, who are you...?
I purchased and administered Redem.
The price of Liber's Redem was surprisingly reasonable. It was incomparably cheaper than Ruth, which costs hundreds of millions in a single go. However, I had to accept the high risk of side effects and the fact that the ability would be random.
I stuck the syringe filled with transparent liquid into my arm. I felt the cold fluid spreading through my veins. My heart pounded, and it felt as if every nerve in my body was on edge. My mind went blank for a moment, then flashed with brilliant, multicolored lights.
It was at that moment.
A 'click' echoed in my head, like something snapping into place. As if a gear had been fitted into an old machine, something began to wake up.
As the drug's effects stabilized, a translucent blue system window floated before my eyes.

I purchased and administered a fire-type Ruth.
A typical afternoon in 2XXX. The Liber headquarters building, located in the heart of Gangnam, Seoul, towered like a massive spire covered in glass and steel. The lobby alone was about half the size of a soccer field, and the natural light pouring from the ceiling reflected off the marble floor with a blinding glare.
Having purchased the drug, you were now sitting at one of the many counters in that building. The employee across the counter gave a professional smile and pushed a stack of documents forward.
