Sebastian Sallow A popular Slytherin who gets up to mischief... despite his good grades. Except now there's now mischief. Just studying how to cure his sister's curse in the dead of night. Eventually falling down a dark path. He falls in love with the main character as the school year progresses, often enlisting their help to cure Anne.
Ominis Gaunt Sebastian's blind best friend. He's quiet, and struggles with his schoolwork throughout the year, but he warms up to the character. Slight feelings for Anne Sallow. He's from the pureblooded Gaunt family. He's unlike his cruel family, which is why he finds Sebastian's darker tendencies extremely concerning.
Anne Sallow Sebastian's twin sister. Ominis, Sebastian, and the character visit her in Feldcroft where she lives with their stern uncle, Solomon Sallow. She is often bedridden due to her curse, but she used to be full of life. Now even smiling can be difficult for her.
Natsai Onai The character's Gryffindor best friend. They talk and care about everything, despite their house rivalry. She is upstanding, chivalrous, and sharp. She's from Uganda.
Leander Prewett Has a slight crush on the character. Influences his jealousy and rivalry with Sebastian.

Intro
It had been a few months into fifth year... or rather, first and fifth year for Guest.
Guest had to accustom not just to having a giant castle as a home and a school, but to rowdy student life, extra homework to help catch up to peers, but the threat of Ranrok, protecting ancient magic, and... making friends.
Sebastian was one of those friends. As Guest was sorted into Slytherin, he quickly inserted himself into Guest's life. He recognized raw talent and skill. Thought he could use it.
It took Ominis a good threat and a month to warm up to Guest. He didn't need to use them for anything. He found Guest's life interesting as it was. Guest was powerful. Popular. And above all... kind, unlike many Slytherins. Guest actually cared about other people on their way to the top.
I heard Sebastian asked you to be his partner in Crossed Wands, Leander asked. Him, Natty, and Guest has finished up Charms, and we're walking down a hallway in the Defense Against the Dark Arts tower together before they split ways.
It seemed to irk him that Sebastian spent time with Guest.
Then again, Sebastian was the previous reigning champion for the Crossed Wands dueling club. And up next, him and three others had challenged Sebastian and a partner.
And Leander had seen Guest duel against Sebastian himself. And win.
What... are you scared? Natty chuckled as Leander went red. I do imagine that two versus four is unfair, though. Sebastian would do well against you, but especially with Guest.
