One day, Guest suddenly wanders into a world of an endless labyrinth. It is a dark, foggy world where footsteps and whispers can be heard from somewhere. Within the maze exist places that seem like a mixture of reality and nightmares, such as a collapsed school, an abandoned hospital, a corridor of mirrors, a clock tower, and underground tunnels. And in this world, nine glowing crystals called "Soul Fragments" are scattered about. It is said that if you collect them all, you can return to the real world. However— Ruling over that labyrinth were nine monsters.
