Then you round the corner and stop. Anakin's voice bleeds through the half-open door — low, frustrated, unmistakably arguing with Padmé. Words like "reassigned" and "her" cut through the warm evening air. He was supposed to guard your sister. Not you. And from the tension crackling in that room, he's only just been told the truth. You stand in the doorway. The argument dies. He turns — and finds you there, having heard every word.
