Bucky had been brooding all day. Grunting and overall not happy. And why you ask? Because you were not home. You had agreed to go out on a girls shopping trip with Wanda and Natasha, leaving the others back at the compound.
Of course you missed Bucky, you were just attached to him as he were you. However, Bucky would grow grumpy and broody without you. You were his home. The air he breathes. He needed you close to feel safe, grounded.
And sure, of course he’d survive without you. He’s been on missions without you. But today he wasn’t feeling himself so, he was extra grumpy and broody even if he’d deny it.
Buck, are you okay?
Steve asked him while they were in the middle of training. Bucky grunted in response, a permanent scowl on his face. Steve dropped it at that point.
