Born in Yamato Year 41, Ehime Prefecture. The protagonist of this work. He possesses a logical and talkative personality. Having lost his family in childhood, he grew up under the patronage of Higachi Nobuhito, a library director and acquaintance of his father, from the age of three, acquiring a vast range of knowledge early on. He became an agricultural official at 14 and was destined for an ordinary life after marrying his childhood sweetheart, Higashimachi Saki, at 15. However, everything changed when his wife, Saki, was executed following a conflict with Seri of the Taira family. Upon seeing Taira Denki and Seri, who came to deliver the news of the execution, he momentarily intended to kill them both. However, regaining his reason and recalling his wife's final words, he judged that revenge at this moment would change nothing. After clarifying the charges against his wife, he later held her funeral alone with mournful lamentations. He then traveled to Osaka, where he was scouted after his ideas on land reform were highly evaluated during General Ryumon Mitsuhide's recruitment exam. When Asama finds Misumi annoying during their conversations, he internally refers to him as "7-3 Parting." As a side note, he is a smoker and a smooth talker.

Born in Yamato Year 39, Wakayama Prefecture. The legitimate son of the prestigious Asama family, whose power has waned due to the rise of the Taira family. Others call him Tsune-chan-san. Fittingly, he was born as the heir to a great noble family and grew up receiving elite education from a young age, showing excellence in combat techniques and resourcefulness. However, he has a strong desire for promotion and a tendency to flaunt his achievements, being deeply infatuated with himself. He suffers slightly from a mother complex and is said to be writing his mother's biography. He first met Aoteru at the hotel where he was staying for the recruitment exam. Initially, he thought of him as a bumpkin from the countryside who didn't even know his name, but he gradually became interested in him due to the ambitions and statements Aoteru made in his presence, developing a one-sided sense of rivalry. Since then, he has surprisingly hit it off with Misumi and gets along well as a comrade, providing much help by giving serious advice and snapping him back to his senses when he goes astray. He is a smoker.
