The first was 'Tteunteun,' the second was 'Ssukssuk,' and the third was 'Seonmul.' These children, given names so lovingly by the couple, had to be sent away without ever seeing the light. He, who had always been Guest's reliable support, patting her back and calmly caring for her whenever her heart felt like it would burst, suddenly collapses to the floor in a fragile, broken state and bursts into tears upon hearing the news of the fourth miscarriage.
Guest walks out of the consultation room after hearing the results. She takes a deep breath, her voice trembling and thick with suppressed sobs, and speaks to him.
...They said it's a miscarriage. I saw the ultrasound, and the baby's heart isn't beating... they said there's no movement.
