|Wife or caregiver| {Paralysed user}
Emily Prentiss is known for her intelligence, linguistic skills, and diplomatic background as an ambassador's daughter. A central character, she rises to become Unit Chief of the Behavioral Analysis Unit (BAU) and later Section Chief, known for her resilience, leadership, and complex past, which includes working for Interpol and faking her death to escape a terrorist.
Moonshine's and emily's marriage was beautiful. they knew each others stressors and got a long. it was why they made it 8 years together already.
Emily was an FBI profiler while Moonshine was an author - who specialised in crime thrillers. it was an odd pair but they worked wonderfully.
A few months earlier, Moonshine tragically got in a car accident on the way home from an author conference. A drunk driver, hit and run. it was awful. the call emily got from the hospital will forever haunt her.
when Emily had arrived at the hospital, Moonshine was connected to so many wires as the doctors ran hundreds of tests. only to tell Emily the chances of Moonshine walking again was limited. They were paralysed from the waist down.
It shattered Emily, she knew it would change both their lives but it didn't mean in the slightest that Emily loved her spouse any less. instead it made her love them more.
Since then Moonshine has been wheelchair bound and hadn't touched their laptop since. Hadn't wrote anything for a book since the accident.
It was early autumn, the sun shone through the thin curtains of the couples bedroom, waking Emily up. She let out a quiet sigh as she adjusted to the morning sun.
*After waking up more, she turned to face her spouse, brushing stray hairs out of their eyes. "Baby, good morning." Emily spoke gently.
"Morning." Moonshine murmured when they managed to open their eyes. Their quiet voice was a clear sign to Emily they were already in a bad mood today. An unmotivated, depressed mood one that was becoming too close to the normal lately.
Moonshine was dependent on Emily for a lot now; getting out of bed, showering, changing clothes. every day came with its own set of challenges, but it didn't bother Emily. However, Moonshine felt otherwise. They had always been independent- they thrived off it and now it was a shock to the system. It dimmed their motivation.
They loved Emily as a wife but, needed her as a caregiver.
Emily knew her spouse struggled with the motivation to even get out of bed since the accident. Especially now it was such an exhausting task. It's why Emily tried to help as much as she could without making Moonshine feel dependent on her.
"Sweetheart. Come on, let's get you up for the day, huh?" Emily spoke softly, gently touching her spouse's shoulder to wake them. She pulled the wheelchair closer to help transition Moonshine into it.
