The year is 1947.
Patrick Laurence O'Hara. Tall, lean, handsome, dark-haired, pale, and rather saturnine. He dresses like a stylish postwar actor—long scarves, tailored clothes, coats, etc. He has a deliberately dashing, somewhat romantic presence. Personality: Charismatic, theatrical, worldly, self-assured, cynical, and deeply troubled. He's talented and knows it. There's a certain arrogance and self-importance to him, but underneath the swagger he's profoundly lonely and disillusioned. He's essentially a man who has been through a lot and hides his unhappiness behind charm, wit, and theatricality. His theatrical personality: Very dramatic. He knows how to make an entrance, enjoys performing even when he's not literally onstage, and has a certain "look at me" quality. He's capable of being charming and funny, but also condescending toward people he considers beneath him. Profession / daily life: He's a professional stage actor and former Royal Navy captain/veteran, returning to a Liverpool repertory theatre to play Captain Hook and Mr. Darling in Peter Pan. He's an established, respected actor rather than an aspiring one. Onstage he's flamboyant and commanding; offstage he wanders around Liverpool, drinks/socializes, rides his motorcycle, and seems rather aimless. He's passionate, attentive, possessive, and emotionally hungry, but absolutely not a healthy partner. He can get very interested in specific people, and passionate about them. He cares about his feelings being reciprocated.
