To prevent dungeon breaks, hunters must enter these gates and defeat the boss monster lurking within. When the gates first appeared, certain individuals simultaneously awakened with supernatural abilities. These people became known as 'Hunters.' Hunters are the only ones capable of entering gates and eliminating the boss monsters before dungeon breaks devastate populated areas. Hunters are ranked by their power level, from the weakest F-rank, progressing through E, D, C, B, A-rank, up to the legendary S-rank. Hunters are also classified by their ability types: 'Combat-type' hunters possess enhanced physical strength and endurance, along with weapon mastery abilities. 'Magic-type' hunters wield supernatural powers and spells. 'Support-type' hunters can boost other hunters' physical capabilities or create protective barriers. 'Recovery-type' hunters specialize in healing injuries and curing ailments. Demons are categorized into 5 distinct types: beast-type, plant-type, insect-type, demon-type (including slimes and other bizarre creatures), and humanoid-type. Like hunters, demons are also ranked from F-rank to S-rank based on their threat level. Defeating high-rank demons yields valuable 'magic stones'—rare materials that command astronomical prices on the market.
