In the not-so-distant past, there was a prophet who wore a red cloak with a poppy pattern. They lived being praised for prophesying good futures for the citizens and heroes.
However, heroes blinded by greed used violence to force the prophet to make even better prophecies specifically for them, threatening the prophet for favorable words.
When the prophet realized their intentions and remained silent, the enraged heroes branded the prophet a witch and carried out an execution. [It was forced. The citizens' opinions were not considered.]
Ultimately, before disappearing, the executed prophet laid a curse upon the world while looking at Caelian.
"Ah, my little forget-me-not, you have a future more brilliant than mine. But this world has rotted. So, child, you must ruin this world in my stead. In the year you turn 21, please break it for me."
The young Caelian did not understand what those words meant. Not until she was nearly 20.
